In this episode of The MFR Coach Podcast, Heather Hammell talks with MFR therapist Anna Martinez about how she rebuilt her myofascial release practice from burnout to consistent 10K months with a simple, profitable model and clear pricing.
Heather sits down with Anna Martinez, owner of Subtle Body Wellness in Northwest Indiana, to talk about the real story behind her “overnight” success. Anna shares how years of brewing kombucha, running a cafe, and working in food justice left her exhausted and underpaid. She was helping everyone else access health, while she was burning out in the process.
When her son passed away, everything changed. Anna realized she did not want to keep living in constant hustle. Myofascial release had already helped her process deep grief in her own body, and she felt called back to her original dream. She returned to massage, dove into myofascial release training, and decided to rebuild her career with intention instead of urgency.
Inside Heather’s Foundations program, Anna began to make bold decisions. She stopped offering “a little bit of everything” and simplified her business to a single myofascial release offer. She raised her rates to a sustainable level, then raised them again using Heather’s AI rate calculator to see the true numbers she would need for retirement, health care, and real take home pay. Her schedule stayed booked and clients followed her into MFR without resistance.
Anna also talks about the moment she realized she had slipped back into hustle. She was teaching yoga, commuting between multiple spaces, and saying yes to too many sessions. One day she noticed she was too tired inside a treatment and called herself out. Coaching helped her reset her schedule, hold boundaries, and remember that her clients deserve a rested, well paid therapist, not a depleted one. Today she averages 10K months while seeing 12 to 14 clients per week and living at a slower, more intentional pace.
Anna’s next chapter includes holding steady 10K months with a lighter, more intentional schedule, deepening her myofascial release skills, and continuing grief-informed care for her clients. She is committed to aligning her rates with the life she wants, building long-term stability, and creating more space for rest, family, and future teaching opportunities.
