I wanted to record this conversation because I know how many therapists are sitting in that space of feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or questioning whether this can actually work long term.
And what stood out to me about this conversation with Lauren Moyer is that her results didn’t come from doing something extreme or complicated.
They came from making consistent decisions, getting support, and actually implementing what she was learning.
She got licensed in 2022. And within a few years, she’s fully booked months in advance, charging sustainable rates, and building a business that supports her life instead of running it.
So this isn’t a story about overnight success.
It’s a clear example of what happens when you stop waiting to feel ready and start building something intentionally.
Becoming a fully booked therapist requires consistent implementation of skills, business systems, and decision-making rather than waiting for confidence or perfect timing.
When I asked Lauren about her timeline, what stood out immediately is how recent this actually is.
She got licensed in 2022. And now, in 2026, she’s booked out months in advance.
That gap wasn’t filled with waiting. It was filled with learning, applying, and continuing to move forward even when she didn’t feel fully ready.
She talked about how easy it is to take courses, learn techniques, and still hesitate to actually use them. And the shift for her came from realizing that confidence doesn’t come first.
It comes from putting your hands on people, trying things, and building skill through experience.
That same pattern shows up in business, too.
She invested in coaching before she even started her practice. Not because she had everything figured out, but because she knew she wanted support while building something sustainable.
And that decision removed a lot of the guesswork.
From my perspective, this is the part most people skip.
They wait to feel ready. They wait to feel confident. They wait until they “know enough.”
But what this shows is that being fully booked isn’t the result of having everything figured out.
It’s the result of deciding to build, getting support, and continuing to implement even when it feels uncomfortable.
Lauren went from overwhelmed to fully booked by transitioning into her own practice with support, building demand consistently, and allowing her schedule to fill over time instead of forcing immediate results.
She didn’t start her business right away after getting licensed.
Instead, she worked in other environments first, building experience and refining her skills. That gave her a foundation, but there was still that familiar question of “am I ready?”
And what she shared is something I see all the time. That feeling doesn’t really go away on its own.
She reached a point where she decided she was ready enough and wanted to build something closer to home, something that served her community directly.
And once she made that decision, she committed to it.
From there, her schedule didn’t fill overnight. But it did fill consistently.
Now, she’s booked out months in advance, with her next available appointment pushed far enough out that it actually creates a new kind of challenge.
Managing demand without overextending herself.
What stood out to me is that her growth wasn’t accidental.
She expected it.
Not in a passive way, but because she had seen the process work before and trusted that if she followed it, her business would grow too.
That belief didn’t replace the work. But it made it easier to keep going while the results were building.
Staying fully booked without burnout requires intentional scheduling systems, proactive client planning, and maintaining control over how and when clients book.
One of the most important things Lauren does is not shutting off her schedule, even when she’s fully booked.
She continues to allow new clients to book, even if that appointment is months away. That creates ongoing demand instead of stopping and restarting the flow of clients.
And just as important, she actively plans care with her existing clients.
Instead of waiting for someone to reach out when they’re in pain again, she makes sure they leave each session with their next appointments scheduled.
Sometimes multiple sessions ahead.
That removes gaps in care and keeps her schedule predictable.
There’s also a strong level of intention behind how many clients she sees.
Her fully booked number is 12 clients per week, and everything in her schedule is built around supporting that.
Not squeezing in more, not overextending, but maintaining a level that allows her to do the work well and sustain it long term.
What stood out to me is that none of this is accidental.
She’s not reacting to her schedule.
She’s designing it.
Pricing and rate increases directly impact a therapist’s ability to become and stay fully booked by aligning income with capacity, reducing overwork, and maintaining demand at sustainable levels.
When Lauren started her practice, her initial rate felt uncomfortable to say out loud.
She planned to charge $150, but opened at $125 to ease into it.
Over time, she increased her rate to $200.
And what’s important here is not just the number, but how she handled the transition.
For new clients, the new rate applied immediately.
For existing clients, she gave them time to adjust, communicated clearly, and allowed prepay at the old rate for a limited window.
That approach made the increase feel manageable and respectful.
And the result was clear.
Her schedule continued to fill.
She didn’t lose demand.
In fact, those prepaid packages helped fill her calendar months in advance.
This is where many therapists hesitate.
They assume raising prices will reduce bookings.
But when done intentionally, pricing supports sustainability.
Lauren still sees 12 clients per week, but now at a rate that supports higher revenue, less financial pressure, and more flexibility.
A fully booked, sustainable therapy business operates with a defined client load, consistent revenue, and built-in flexibility that supports both income and personal life.
Lauren’s business is a clear example of this.
She sees 12 clients per week and is on track for a six-figure year.
That challenges the idea that you need to see more people to make more money.
Instead, her pricing and systems allow her to earn more while maintaining a manageable schedule.
Her business also supports her life outside of work.
She adjusts her schedule around her kids, takes time off when needed, and makes decisions based on what works for her life.
Financially, there is growing stability.
She’s saving for taxes, understanding her numbers, and working toward paying herself consistently.
That shift from uncertainty to clarity is what makes the business sustainable.
From my perspective, this is the real goal.
Not just being fully booked, but being fully booked in a way that supports your income, protects your energy, and gives you control over your time.
